He gave us plenty of time to do the exercises with his help, which was particularly good as I sometimes find I forget things if I don't take the time to do them myself, once I've learnt them. Although a basic level of knowledge of SQL is naturally assumed going into an advanced course, I was never put on the spot or had to recall things that weren't in the course.
