This video explains how to use arrays in Excel VBA to dramatically improve the performance of code which performs calculations over many rows in an Excel worksheet. You'll see how to write a For Each loop to perform calculations the traditional way, including how to disable screen updates and automatic worksheet calculation to improve the performance of this code. You'll then learn how to populate an array with the values of a range of cells, loop through the array to calculate new values and then write the contents of the array into a range of cells. As a bonus, you'll also see how to redimension arrays, how to work with multiple arrays in the same procedure and how to use arrays to populate arguments of Excel worksheet functions.
See our full range of VBA training resources, or test your knowledge of VBA with one of our VBA skills assessment tests.
