Report Builder 2016 videos | Report Builder Pt 5.2 - Sorting and Interactive Sorting in Tables

Posted by Andrew Gould on 07 May 2019

This video teaches you a variety of techniques to apply sorting to a Report Builder table. You'll learn how to write a simple ORDER BY clause in an SQL query, how to apply a sort to a table column and perhaps most usefully, how to create interactive sorting to allow your end users to control the order of the rows in a table.

The higher the number you choose, the better will be your video quality (but the slower the connection speed):

Don't choose the HD option unless you have a fast enough connection speed to support it!

Is your Wise Owl speaking too slowly (or too quickly)?  You can also use the Settings menu above to change your playback speed.

Great presentation.  I would add a tip with interactive sorting.  To do a primary then a secondary sort, click on the first column sort button, then hold the SHIFT key and click on the second column sort button. Very useful such as to sort by Genre then by Title.
