Visual Basic | Drawing forms exercise | Create a basic form to display star signs

This exercise is provided to allow potential course delegates to choose the correct Wise Owl Microsoft training course, and may not be reproduced in whole or in part in any format without the prior written consent of Wise Owl.

You need a minimum screen resolution of about 700 pixels width to see our exercises. This is because they contain diagrams and tables which would not be viewable easily on a mobile phone or small laptop. Please use a larger tablet, notebook or desktop computer, or change your screen resolution settings.

Create a form called frmStarSign, so that you can input the name and characteristics of a star sign:

Remember to include tooltips for your form, as here

Your form should include:

  • The ENTER and ESC keys should automatically choose the correct default buttons
  • Pressing the TAB should take you through the controls in the correct order

Attach code to the buttons so that when a user clicks on Cancel this closes down the form, while clicking on the Show button displays what you have typed in - eg:
