Field parameters allow your user to swap between categories within a visual, you can learn how to create them in this blog.
With most visuals, selecting an item in the field parameter slicer displays the contents of the selected field in another visual.
Here selecting RegionName in the slicer shows that column in the table.
When using this technique with a slicer by default your field's name will be shown and not its contents.
I want to see the contents of the RegionName column in the right hand slicer.
To fix this, select the second slicer, go to the Field bucket of the field well and use the dropdown to select Show values of selected field.
This will show the contents of the selected column.
In this example my RegionName column contains a list of the regions in England.
Selecting TownName in the first slicer would show a list of English towns on the right.
