Power BI Desktop | Basic reports exercise | Create a table listing out the 1000 best films
This exercise is provided to allow potential course delegates to choose the correct Wise Owl Microsoft training course, and may not be reproduced in whole or in part in any format without the prior written consent of Wise Owl.
The answer to the exercise will be included and explained if you attend the course listed below!
You need a minimum screen resolution of about 700 pixels width to see our exercises. This is because they contain diagrams and tables which would not be viewable easily on a mobile phone or small laptop. Please use a larger tablet, notebook or desktop computer, or change your screen resolution settings.
Create a new Power BI Desktop file, and get a list of the top 1000 films of all time, as rated by They Shoot Pictures, Don't They? You can find the link you need at this page of our website.
Choose the option shown here to get data from the web. If you haven't got Internet access, or the web page is no longer valid, you can import the data instead from the Excel workbook in the above folder (choosing the Films table).
Create a table to look something like this:
The films are in position order, and the table has a title and totals.
Save this Power BI file with the name Citizen bloody Kane again, then exit this instance of Power BI Desktop.
