It's official: Microsoft now care about markers in charts far more than you could ever hope to:
In this example the markers have an orange colour, a red border and are triangles rotated through 90 degrees.
Here are the main marker settings for the above chart:
We've chosen a triangle marker and then rotated it by 90 degrees just for the hell of it (because we could?).
Here are the colour and border settings for our markers:
The markers are orange with a red border.
You couldn't previously rotate markers, set borders for them or change their transparency. Be honest, though: had you ever wanted to?
