|Find out who won last month's newsletter competition, what people's favourite Taylor Swift songs are and why her elbows are so special!|
Last month's newsletter asked this important question:
How big is the intersection between readers of this newsletter and Taylor Swift fans?
The answer, it turns out, is probably not as big as we'd thought. Out of a disappointing field of 8 correct entries, congratualtions are due to Laura Krischik, as her entry was at the top of the list after our patented Algorithm for Random Selection in Excel (we've decided not to use the acronym) did its work. A £50 Amazon voucher is on its way to Laura.
Note that this also proves that our random selection really is random, as Laura isn't - as far as I know - a previous or existing client of Wise Owl.
The final grid should have looked like this:
The final grid after finding all of the Taylor Swift songs.
Unused letters (read from left to right and top to bottom) spelt out the following phrase:
Type the word elbows into the search box on the Wise Owl website to find a page of simple instructions
Doing this took you to this page, which included the fascinating fact that Taylor Swift has double-jointed elbows. The page asked you to send the name of your favourite song as your competition entry. Here were the votes received:
All too well
Death by a thousand cuts
Out of the woods
Shake it off
I presume that these are all genuine Taylor Swift songs. Despite our youngest daughter (hi, Pippa) playing TS songs incessantly, I still don't know any of their names ...
