Open the Excel file called Tallest Buildings Single Sheet.xlsx in the folder shown above. You should see a worksheet containing information on the world's tallest buildings.

A small sample of the data you should see.
Convert the list of data into an Excel table (you can press Ctrl + T to do this quickly).

The data range should be selected automatically.
Rename the table in the Table Design tab of the ribbon.

Feel free to use a different name if you prefer.
Use the Power Pivot tab in the ribbon to add your new table to the data model.

You should be taken to the Power Pivot window automatically.
Select the Height m column and format it so that each value has two decimal places.

You can find formatting options in the Home tab of Power Pivot.
From the Home tab in the Power Pivot ribbon, choose to create a pivot table and place it on a new worksheet in the Excel workbook.

Place the pivot table on new worksheet.
Populate the pivot table as shown in the diagram below:

The Columns box will populate itself when you add multiple fields to the Values box.
Use the Country filter to see buildings in the United States.

You should see two cities.
Double-click the value for the Sum of Height m for New York City to drilldown to the details of the buildings which make up that value.

Some of the data you should see.
Save and close the file.
