Before you can do this exercise, you'll need to download and unzip this file (if you have any problems doing this, click here for help).

You need a minimum screen resolution of about 700 pixels width to see our exercises. This is because they contain diagrams and tables which would not be viewable easily on a mobile phone or small laptop. Please use a larger tablet, notebook or desktop computer, or change your screen resolution settings.

Create a new Power BI report, and load the running data from the CSV file in the above folder:

Training data

The file contains training data for a Wise Owl for the Manchester Marathon in April 2020. As for so many other things, COVID had other plans for Shaun.

Create a line chart showing distance run by month:

Line chart by month

See the notes below for how to do this!

Here are some extra things you'll need to do:

  1. You'll need to sort the month name by the month number column to get the months to appear in the correct chronological order.
  2. You will need to add a Y axis constant line to show the initial target of 45 km per month.

Save this report as Oh COVID, then close it down.

You can unzip this file to see the answers to this exercise, although please remember this is for your personal use only.
