Before you can do this exercise, you'll need to download and unzip this file (if you have any problems doing this, click here for help).

You need a minimum screen resolution of about 700 pixels width to see our exercises. This is because they contain diagrams and tables which would not be viewable easily on a mobile phone or small laptop. Please use a larger tablet, notebook or desktop computer, or change your screen resolution settings.

Open the database in the above folder.

Create two separate queries to show that there are:

  • 26 songs which include the word Christmas in their title; but only
  • 2 songs which include the word Xmas in their title

Save the second query as XmasSongs - your answer should look like this:

The two Xmas songs

Now create a query to show the 6 songs sung by artists whose names begin with either W or J:

There may only be 6 songs, but they include some classics

Close down both queries and your database.

You can unzip this file to see the answers to this exercise, although please remember this is for your personal use only.
