Before you can do this exercise, you'll need to download and unzip this file (if you have any problems doing this, click here for help).

You need a minimum screen resolution of about 700 pixels width to see our exercises. Open the database in the above folder.

Create a query to show for each song the last year in which it charted:

White Christmas has charted three times, but the last one was in 1998

Use the RIGHT function to extract the last 4 characters, and the CLNG function to turn the result into a number of type LONG (ie an integer).

Save this query as LastChartingYear, then close the database down.
