Before you can do this exercise, you'll need to download and unzip this file (if you have any problems doing this, click here for help).

You need a minimum screen resolution of about 700 pixels width to see our exercises. This is because they contain diagrams and tables which would not be viewable easily on a mobile phone or small laptop. Please use a larger tablet, notebook or desktop computer, or change your screen resolution settings.

Open the form called frmPablo - it should look like this:

Access VBA Macros exercise - Attaching code to forms (image 1)

Your task is to make the buttons move Pablo around the screen

Attach code to each of the buttons to nudge Pablo 50 units at a time in the appropriate direction (the units are TWIPS, and there are 567 of them in a centimetre, so 50 won't move Pablo far).  To move:

  • Left or right, change the Left property of the image to what it used to be +/- 50
  • Up or down, change the Top  property of the image to what it used to be +/- 50

When your code is working, save and close the form.

You can unzip this file to see the answers to this exercise, although please remember this is for your personal use only.
