- Go into SQL Server Management Studio;
- Open the SQL file you've just unzipped (you can press CTRL + O to do this); then
- Execute this script.
This will generate the database that you'll need to use in order to do this exercise (note that the database and script are only to be used for exercises published on this website, and may not be reused or distributed in any form without the prior written permission of Wise Owl).
You need a minimum screen resolution of about 700 pixels width to see our exercises. This is because they contain diagrams and tables which would not be viewable easily on a mobile phone or small laptop. Please use a larger tablet, notebook or desktop computer, or change your screen resolution settings.
Create a new report called Show Me The Money, add a data source which connects to the Movies database and create a dataset which includes these fields:

Use the Film and Studio tables to select these fields.
Insert a table and add fields to it so that it resembles the example below:

Start with these three fields in the table.
Now add a parent group using the Studio field and rearrange the table so that it resembles the one shown below:

You'll need to add a parent group, delete a row and column, insert a new row inside the Studio group and add Sum functions to the group footer.
Set the Grouping Pane to Advanced Mode, select the (Details) item and change two of its properties as shown below:

Change the Hidden and ToggleItem properties for the (Details) item.
Repeat this for the the (Static) items which represent the group header and footer rows.
Apply formatting to the table so that it resembles the one shown below when you run the report:

Click the + next to the studio name to show the money.
Save and close the report.
