Create pivot tables with conditional formatting from a Power Pivot data model of concert tours

This exercise is provided to allow potential course delegates to choose the correct Wise Owl Microsoft training course, and may not be reproduced in whole or in part in any format without the prior written consent of Wise Owl.

Before you can do this exercise, you'll need to download and unzip this file .

Open the Music Tours Pivot Tables.xlsx file from the folder shown above.

Create a pivot table based on the Power Pivot data model. Use the Artist, Album and Album Type tables to create the pivot table shown below:

Change the report layout to show in outline form.

Filter the Album Type column to show items where the Min of US Billboard 200 peak value is equal to 1.

The results show artists and album types which reached the top of the chart.

Add subtotals to the top of each artist group and apply conditional formatting to highlight the count of album titles which are 10 or more.

Only subtotal values for artists should be formatted.

Apply a colour scale conditional format to the artist subtotals for the Sum of US sales (m) values. Collapse all the artist groups so that you can see the colour scale clearly.

Remember that you can collapse an entire field rather than one-by-one.

Save and close the file.
