When an Abba song is added to a SharePoint list send a notification email

This exercise is provided to allow potential course delegates to choose the correct Wise Owl Microsoft training course, and may not be reproduced in whole or in part in any format without the prior written consent of Wise Owl.

Before you can do this exercise, you'll need to download and unzip this file .

In a SharePoint site, add a new list:

Choose to add a new list in a Sharepoint site.

Choose to add your list from Excel, then upload the workbook in the above folder:

Choose this option, then choose to upload the Excel file in the above folder.

Eventually you should be able to give your list a name:

After creating the list you should see that it contains 3 columns: the title, album and release year.

Write a flow called Exercise NN - email details of added song which sends you an email whenever someone adds a new song to your SharePoint list:

When you add an item to your SharePoint list like this, it should trigger your flow. Use the When an item is created SharePoint trigger.

Here's the sort of email that your flow should send:

Your notification email could look something like this.

Test your flow twice:

Once by adding the new Abba song as shown; and
Once by choosing to re-run the last successful flow

Optional extra; you could always add a date stamp to the text file name using the expression utcNow() to make each text file's name unique!
