AI tools are changing: we've done a big new comparison of the 4 main tools

We've run a big new set of tests to stretch the capability of the 4 main AI tools, in the areas of analysis, summarising data, creativity, coding and image generation. See which comes out on top!

The new batch of tests are much more challenging than previous ones that we've run.

Staying on the theme of comparing AI tools, we revisited the 18 image prompts submitted to OpenAI as part of our December 2024 newsletter competition. It's astonishing how quickly things have improved:

It is scary how quickly things are getting better, at least in the strict technical sense!

To ensure that we can continue to provide relevant and interesting content for our monthly newsletters, we have taken the (sensible) decision to adjust the frequency rather than the content of the newsletters - which is why you've had to wait longer than usual for this issue:

In a similar housekeeping exercise to avoid doing things just because we've always done them, we are stopping our monthly Power BI updates (rather than reporting on every trivial change we will now focus on ones which will make a real difference to those creating reports).
