For worksheets that deal with project or invoicing data, it is always useful to include the current date that updates every time you open the workbook.
It will help with calculations such as the current number of days until an invoice or project is due or how many days late an invoice or project might be. Or even to tell you how many days it is until Christmas!
The date in cell B1 updates every time you open the workbook
You need to insert a special Excel function that will keep asking your computer for the current date (and possibly time).
Select a cell and type in: =today()
When you press enter the current date will display in the cell (as long as your PC knows the correct date!)
The cell displays the current date, but the cell contains =today()
Note that you can also use =now() which can display the date and the current time.
