Use Power Query's merge feature to lookup values across tables.

This exercise is provided to allow potential course delegates to choose the correct Wise Owl Microsoft training course, and may not be reproduced in whole or in part in any format without the prior written consent of Wise Owl.

Before you can do this exercise, you'll need to download and unzip this file .

Create a new Excel workbook and save it as Merging Music.xlsx.

Import the Album, Artist and Tour worksheets from the Music Tables.xlsx file. Load each query into a table in a new worksheet.

Edit the Tour query and add a Merge Queries transform to lookup values in the Artist query using the Artist ID columns.

Merge the queries using the Artist ID columns in each.

Expand the Artist column in the Tour query to show the Artist, Artist type and Year formed columns.

Don't use the original column name as a prefix.

Move the three new columns next to the Tour name column then delete the Artist ID column.

Perform another merge transform to add the same artist details to the Album query.

Close and load the queries then save and close the workbook.
