Changes in the August 2023 Power BI Desktop Update
Part two of a three-part series of blogs
A holiday season update with only two small changes: new icons to switch between mobile and normal layout, and a new scaling option for bubble charts (surely on-object formatting will go live soon?).
So here I am starting to design a report in desktop layout:
Note the new icons in the bottom left corner next to the page tabs!
Here's me creating a mobile view of the same report (the visual shown in the desktop version of the report is waiting to be dragged on):
Again, note the icons to switch between layouts.
So this is one of those changes which is extremely simple to show and explain!
I must admit I've never tried designing a report for mobile - even though Microsoft are obviously putting more effort into it, the interface still seems clunky. Maybe it's time for Power BI to have completely independent mobile and desktop report designers?
