Charts in Power Apps aren't a new feature, but they are new for our courseware.
Be warned: you are unlikely to be swept away by the power and flexibility of charts in Power Apps!
You can create 3 types of chart in Power Apps:

Every chart consists of just 3 parts - the title, chart and legend. Here's an example of a title:

And here's an example of a legend:

Here's about the limit of what you can do with chart formatting in Power Apps:
A chart showing data markers and other embellishments.
Given the small size of screen which your app will probably take up, basic charts like the ones shown above may well be sufficient for most purposes.
