Way back in July we asked you to create an image through our website, using a ChatGPT back end. The catch was that everyone only got one go. We were genuinely amazed at the creativity and imagination of readers, and it was hard picking a result from the 19 images received.

What follows is my completely subjective opinion on the best 3 images, taking into account the text of the prompt and the quality of the picture generated.

Third place - Hannah Jenkins

This prompt deserved a better image!

"Create an image that will win a competition for the best AI generated image. Assume that there will be 100 other entrants from a professional background and you only have one chance to make the winning image. The image can be of anything, so long as it wins the best image."

While I don't think much of the final image, I applaud this entry for trying to delegate all of the work and responsibility for the project to AI. It deserved a better result!

Second place - Suzanne Fisher

I've always been a sucker for surrealism, particularly when it comes to reading children books, so this appealed to me:

"Create an image of pandas playing where up is down and down is up and black is white and white is black."

I love the illustration generated too!

First place - Matthew Fielding (Wythenshawe Community Housing Group)

Matthew edged in front with his request. Not only was it a great prompt, but it produced a good image too:

"I want a really positive inspiring image. I need some sunshine in my life, I need Pitbull the singer blasting out some songs, some mountains and swimming in a lake. I need my work computer in a waste bin. and why not put a golden plated Rolls-Royce with a cat driving it?"

Why not indeed? A £50 voucher is winging its way to Matthew.
