Excel has almost become synonymous with spreadsheets. Google also has a spreadsheet application called Google Sheets, and it's free!

Even the application icon is suspiciously familiar looking...

Normally bought (or rented?) as part of Office 365, Excel can cost a pretty penny.

Office 365 costs from £5.99 per month. The above screenshot is for dramatic effect.

Google Sheets on the other hand is free for personal use. Business users can choose from a variety of plans.

Free for Personal use and subscription for business use.

Plans start from £5 per month with varying additional benefits.

According to ChatGPT there are 2 billion monthly users of Google Sheets compared to Excel's 0.7 to 1.2 billion. This Owl doesn't know any of those 2 billion!
