Reviewing 3 AI tools to generate original artwork in response to simple requests
Part one of a four-part series of blogs
In addition to writing recipes, poems and software for you, AI tools can also create images too. Want to see an anteater in a red hat? We did!
It used to be that creating artwork was a specialist trade, but with the new generation of AI image-creation tools, even I can become a graphic designer! This article gives an overview of three of the main tools available.
To level the playing field I chose to use the same prompt for all the software I looked at: "Create a picture of an anteater wearing a red hat standing on top of an anthill".
The tools I looked at were these:
|Midjourney||Because this has been overwhelmed by demand, you now have to take out a $12 a month subscription to generate images.|
|Adobe Firefly||This is currently in Beta, but any image tool from Adobe deserves to receive serious consideration.|
|Microsoft Image Creator||This use the popular DALL-E algorithm (which is why I haven't reviewed this tool separately), and is available as a standalone website or as part of Bing Chat.|
Take a few minutes to have a look through, and then ponder just how many graphic designers the world is going to need in the future ...
