New features in the Power BI November 2022 update
Part one of a five-part series of blogs
This update includes the roll-out of field parameters, separate Y axes for small multiples and new DAX debugging functions - and a new colour for Power BI!
After a few quiet months, this update introduces some significant new features. Here is a summary of what's in store for you!
|New colour||For accessibility reasons, the default background colour has changed from yellow to green (teal, actually). Well, it is the first thing you'll notice!|
|Field parameters||You can now create dynamic slicers without knowing any DAX by using field parameters (technically these are still in preview, but they are now turned on by default).|
|Small multiple Y axes||To avoid large numbers distorting small ones you can now have separate Y axes for each chart in a set of small multiples.|
|DAX debugging functions||Three new functions allow you to view temporary output from your DAX measures and queries: EVALUATEANDLOG, TOCSV and TOJSON.|
In addition to the above, Microsoft at some point sneaked in a paginated report visual. Since I'm not sure when this was introduced, I've blogged about it separately.
