SSIS INTEGRATION SERVICES EXERCISES
Exercise: Combine several CSV files of TV episodes into a single table
This exercise is provided to allow potential course delegates to choose the correct Wise Owl Microsoft training course, and may not be reproduced in whole or in part in any format without the prior written consent of Wise Owl.
The answer to the exercise will be included and explained if you attend the course listed below!
You need a minimum screen resolution of about 700 pixels width to see our exercises. This is because they contain diagrams and tables which would not be viewable easily on a mobile phone or small laptop. Please use a larger tablet, notebook or desktop computer, or change your screen resolution settings.
If you don't already have a table called BigBangEpisodes in your current database, run the SQL script in the folder above in Management Studio to generate one.
Create a package called Big Bang which loops over the CSV files in the above folder, importing each into the above table to get:
The first 3 episodes from the final table, in alphabetical title order.
You'll need at some stage to create an expression for the ConnectionString property of the flat file connection. Note: you're not allowed to use the MultiFlatFile connection - that would be cheating!
When you've got this working, close the package down.
