Use slicers to filter an Excel pivot table based on a Power Pivot data model of tall buildings.

Before you can do this exercise, you'll need to download and unzip this file .

Open the Tallest Buildings Slicers.xlsx file in the folder shown above. You should find a pivot table and pivot chart showing a list of tallest buildings.

Select any part of the pivot table and from the PivotTable Analyze tab in the ribbon choose to insert slicers for the Country and City fields.

Choose these fields.

Arrange the slicers above the pivot table and change the number of columns each one displays.

Display multiple columns in each of the slicers.

Select the pivot chart and from the ribbon choose PivotChart Analyze | Filter Connections... Make sure that both slicers are connected to the pivot chart.
