ChatGPT is the scariest new software we've ever seen

ChatGPT has had a lot of publicity recently, but it fully deserves the hype (and we don't often say this). See how this AI tool can write poetry, software and opinions to help you (and perhaps to take over your job?). Following their investment in OpenAI, the group behind ChatGPT, Microsoft have also announced three ways in which they are incorporating ChatGPT into their software: Copilot for Microsoftt 365, the incorporation of ChatGPT within Bing as a preview tool and ChatGPT AI for Power Platform tools.

Sadly, you'll soon be able to get an avatar to represent you in Teams meetings

If you want to prove you're in a Teams meeting, but don't want people to see your face, why not create an avatar to represent you? Not only can you make it look like you, but - so the theory goes - it will echo your actions too. This feature is still in preview, but it will - alas - be coming to your Teams soon ...

The March Power BI update is a big one, but it's on-object interaction that will change your life

The March Power BI 2023 update includes subtitles and dividers, an action to clear or apply slicers and PowerPoint story-telling (all of which new features are described in this blog), but it's the on-object interaction just introduced in preview which will change your life - and ours.

Announcing (and trying to explain) Microsoft Loop

Does the world need yet another Microsoft application for sharing information on projects between members of a team? Judge for yourself. Microsoft Loop allows you to create shared workspaces, but also allows you to create components and include these in any supported application (these components then update in real time as people contribute to them).

We're removing some skills tests from our website, and you'll no longer be able to create your own

The skills assessment area of our website has for a while now been showing a banner warning that at Easter we will be removing old Microsoft Office and basic IT skills tests from our website, to concentrate on tests central to our core business. We will also remove the facility to create custom tests (we've been unhappy for some time now that we can't give these the proper support that they need to become a viable service). Here's how and why we're making this change.

Our Easter treasure hunt - identify the 15 films from the pictures
