Before you can do this exercise, you'll need to download and unzip this file (if you have any problems doing this, click here for help).

You need a minimum screen resolution of about 700 pixels width to see our exercises. This is because they contain diagrams and tables which would not be viewable easily on a mobile phone or small laptop. Please use a larger tablet, notebook or desktop computer, or change your screen resolution settings.

Open the file in the above folder.

Apply validation to the sex, drugs and rock and roll input figures so that when you click on the cell, the following message appears:

Excel 2010 exercise - Validation and protection (image 1)

Use the Input Message tab on the data validation dialog box to achieve this

You have been appointed as the new manager for your celebrity - amend your validation for the sex, drugs and rock and roll figures so that any new figures input can not exceed £5,000:

Note that this validation will not affect existing figures in the cells

Apply outlining so that your Inputs sheet looks like this initially:

You can expand either or both sections if required

Save your model with the same name, then close it down.

You can unzip this file to see the answers to this exercise, although please remember this is for your personal use only.
