You need a minimum screen resolution of about 700 pixels width to see our blogs. This is because they contain diagrams and tables which would not be viewable easily on a mobile phone or small laptop. Please use a larger tablet, notebook or desktop computer, or change your screen resolution settings.
Winner of (and stats for) September's quiz
Last month's competition was a quiz consisting of 24 questions.
The average number of correct answers given was 11.7, or less than half, showing that we set the bar a bit high. Apologies for making the questions so difficult this time round!
The question most people answered correctly (76%) was this one:

The answer: whether to adopt AC or DC current as the electricity standard.
The question fewest people got right (15%) was this one:

The only fact which isn't true: Nelson Mandela's father never kept a pet leopard on a chain in the family home (not as far as I know, anyway).
Congratulations to Susan Howard of Underscore Training, who wins this month's £50 Amazon voucher. Out of 40 entries received, hers was the name drawn out of the randomised Excel hat (adjusted so that people's chances of winning were proportional to how well they did in the quiz).
