This month we're asking you to colour the squares in a picture black or white by following the numerical instructions.

You need a minimum screen resolution of about 700 pixels width to see our blogs. This is because they contain diagrams and tables which would not be viewable easily on a mobile phone or small laptop. Please use a larger tablet, notebook or desktop computer, or change your screen resolution settings.

You may find the puzzle easier to by filling in this Excel workbook instead.

All squares are black or white.  The numbers represent continuous runs of black squares (so for example there is a run of 13 black squares in the top row, and all the rest are white, and there is a run of 5 black squares in the left column, and all the rest are white).

As well as colouring the black squares, you may find it useful to mark with a dot or different colour squares which you know to be white.
