We've been creating our idiosyncratic monthly blogs on Power BI updates since November 2016, and also deliver online and classroom Power BI courses.

You need a minimum screen resolution of about 700 pixels width to see our blogs. This is because they contain diagrams and tables which would not be viewable easily on a mobile phone or small laptop. Please use a larger tablet, notebook or desktop computer, or change your screen resolution settings.
Power BI Desktop Update for August 2020
So this is a difficult blog to write. Officially there was an update this month, but unless you're basing your Power BI models on Analysis Services Multi-Dimensional models the only two interesting new features were both in preview, as listed below.
Preview feature | Notes |
---|---|
Lassoing data points | You will be able to lasso data points in a visual to select them easily (provided you have a rectangular lasso, that is). |
Perspectives | You will be able to set up different perspectives on your visuals, to make using Power BI easier to manage. |
However since both of these features are in preview, and I have a policy of not blogging on new features until they see the light of day ... here endeth this blog!
