May 2020 competition - a word search with attitude

In the second (and last, for now) in a mini-series of word search puzzles, you're invited to find 44 members of a (larger) collection in this grid, reading in any direction (but always in a straight line).

Word search

One of the items has 4 letters; all of the others have 6 letters or more.

You may find it easier to do the puzzle in Excel - you can download the basic grid here, or for the more adventurous a workbook containing macros to make your life easier entering answers.

When you've found all of the items, unused letters reading across and down from top left to bottom right will spell out a relevant quotation.  To enter the competition, please send this quotation (together, optionally, with your thoughts on its truth) to this email address:

Email for answers

As always, the first correct answer drawn out of the Wise Owl randomised sorting hat will win a £50 Amazon voucher.

Last week's puzzle asked you to guess the 48 countries in Europe.  Unused letters spelt out a quotation from "The Day of the Triffids" by John Wyndham.  You can see the answer - and winner - here.
