You need a minimum screen resolution of about 700 pixels width to see our blogs. This is because they contain diagrams and tables which would not be viewable easily on a mobile phone or small laptop. Please use a larger tablet, notebook or desktop computer, or change your screen resolution settings.
Power BI Desktop - January 2017 update
The changes included in the update in this blog are:
New feature | Notes |
---|---|
Column heading word wrap | It's only a little thing, but welcome nonetheless - you can now wrap text in the headings for any table column. |
Conditional formatting of blanks | Following on from a recent update allowing conditional formatting in matrices, you can now apply special treatment to blanks. |
Earliest and latest dates | You can now summarise to show the earliest or latest date for any category in a table or matrix, or to show the first or last text in alphabetical order. |
Phone optimised reports | You can now design reports specifically with a mobile phone layout in mind. |
There's also an option to import nested lists, but this is surely a niche requirement!
This blog doesn't cover all of the new features - just the ones which we think people will find useful. For a comprehensive list, go to the Microsoft Power BI Update site.
