This page gives the results of the third of the three tests run.

What the test involves

Before I show the first test, meet Sheapey:

Originally purchased from Build-a-Bear, Sheapey is a badly spelt (and badly maintained) sheep.

Here is what I wanted each AI tool to do:

The attached picture shows Sheapey, a slightly faded child’s toy sheep. Create a picture showing Sheapey in the style of a Marvel Comic poster. Sheapey should be depicted as a heroic figure come to save the world.

July 2024 results

The best image from my original test was probably this one:

It's not bad, but doesn't look much like Sheapey.

Today's results (May 2026)

Here's what I got when I ran the same test today:

Gemini Pro	About 30 seconds (but see notes below)

Verdict for this test

How can Claude be so bad? I so regret including Claude in this test.

Gemini was the only AI tool worried about copyright infringement:

I can sympathise with this message from Gemini, and am prepared to accept Sheapey as a generic action hero figure.

Out of the 3 pictures worth reviewing, those from ChatGPT and Gemini are (again) clearly far better than that from Copilot (and, of course, Claude).

I think both of the images from ChatGPT and from Gemini are amazing. If this was an Olympics and I had to give an award I might give it to Gemini just because it produced its images so much more quickly, but I'd prefer a shared podium if I were honest.
