I like the potential within Copilot for summarising emails, and for generating new ones. Let's see how well it fares!

Summarising emails

I thought I'd start by asking Copilot to summarise my emails (note that I'm not within Outlook to do this - just the normal Copilot chat window):

This seems like something I would want to do.

The answer is near perfect, and useful:

I'm not sure I agree about the most important email, but it's a pretty uninspiring inbox to choose from!

Generating an email

Suppose you want to send a summary of the contents of a workbook to someone. Here's the sort of request you might type into Copilot:

I like this because it's getting Copilot to link to Excel and Outlook.

What happened next was weird. Copilot began - slowly - creating the email I'd requested, and was just explaining about the shopping centres in the attached workbook when it suddenly gave up and showed this instead:

This is really strange, as this message replaced an email that Copilot was successfully compiling!

These examples endorse what I found when using Copilot and Excel: Copilot has come on vastly in the last 15 or so months, but it is still annoyingly flaky and unreliable at times.
