Windows Presentation Foundation courses - WPF

If you're creating a Windows application (other than a website) using Visual Studio, the chances are you'll be choosing between two technologies:

  • Windows Forms (WinForms) has been around for some time now: the latest incarnation uses Visual Basic 2010, but will be recognisable in part to VB6 programmers.  WinForms has a wide user base and is a stable development environment.
  • WPF (Windows Presentation Foundation) is the latest way of writing forms-based applications from Microsoft. Visual Studio 2010 is written using WPF, as is SilverLight.  WPF is better for fancy effects, but has less of a user base for now.

Which technology will take off in the future?  We don't know!  Wise Owl train on both - here are the details of our WPF courses:

Course Versions covered
WPF using Visual Basic 2010
Adv VB | Classes & LINQ 2010 and earlier

Note that the advanced VB course covers general topics, and is not limited to WPF applications.

Visual Basic training | VB.NET systems | VB courses
