Before you can do this exercise, you'll need to download and unzip this file (if you have any problems doing this, click here for help).

You need a minimum screen resolution of about 700 pixels width to see our exercises. This is because they contain diagrams and tables which would not be viewable easily on a mobile phone or small laptop. Please use a larger tablet, notebook or desktop computer, or change your screen resolution settings.

If you haven't already done so, restore the database in the above folder into Analysis Services in Management Studio (not for copying or commercial use).  The database should contain 3 dimensions and one cube called MAM.

Create the following report, which has 3 dropdowns (see overleaf for how to get the title working):

Report with dropdowns

The dropdowns will automatically be linked together, since they all come from the Geography dimension.

To get the title working, use an expression similar to this:

Expression for title

The expression joins the chosen values for each parameter together separated by commas, and then throws a blank line (or Visual Basic Carriage Return Line Feed) after each.

Save this report as Linked dropdowns, then close it down.
