Exercise: Create a fairly simple Power View report, using tiles

Before you can do this exercise, you'll need to download and unzip this file (if you have any problems doing this, click here for help).

You need a minimum screen resolution of about 700 pixels width to see our exercises. This is because they contain diagrams and tables which would not be viewable easily on a mobile phone or small laptop. Please use a larger tablet, notebook or desktop computer, or change your screen resolution settings.

If you haven't already done so, run the SQL script in the above folder (copying and commercial use prohibited) to generate a database called MAM.

Create a new workbook, and within this create a data model based on the tblAgeRange, tblProduct and tblTransaction tables.

Have a go at creating the following Power View report!

To get the tiles working, create the table, add tiles to it and then click within the tiled area (but not on the table) to add the chart.

Save this workbook as Simple report, then close it down.
