Before you can do this exercise, you'll need to download and unzip this file (if you have any problems doing this, click here for help).

You need a minimum screen resolution of about 700 pixels width to see our exercises. This is because they contain diagrams and tables which would not be viewable easily on a mobile phone or small laptop. Please use a larger tablet, notebook or desktop computer, or change your screen resolution settings.

Create a report such that you can choose one or more film certificates from a Multivalue droplist:

Multivalue droplist

You can choose one or more certificates, or click on (Select All) to choose all of them.

Unless you have a LOT of time and energy, build queries (rather than using stored procedures) for the two datasets required for this exercise.

When you choose to view the report, you should see all of the films for that combination of certificates:

Films for given combination of certificates

If you choose U and PG for example, you'll see this list of films (notice that we've also changed the title to show the certificates chosen).

Try seeing if you can get the choice for the drop list to default to all certificates, by setting its default values to be the same as the available values.

All values chosen

It doesn't look pretty (and you should be glad there were only 8 certificates, not 80).
