Before you can do this exercise, you'll need to download and unzip this file (if you have any problems doing this, click here for help).

You need a minimum screen resolution of about 700 pixels width to see our exercises. This is because they contain diagrams and tables which would not be viewable easily on a mobile phone or small laptop. Please use a larger tablet, notebook or desktop computer, or change your screen resolution settings.

Create a new web site, and import the 4 files in the above folder into it.

Add a theme called womp into your website.

Create a new page called frmNewFilm based on the master page womp.master.

Use skins (and the notes below) to create a form to look as follows:

ASP.NET 4.0 - C# exercise - Themes and skins (image 1)

You can enter the details of a film in the form

You'll need to create the following skins:

  • A default skin to apply to all buttons to make the background colour Navy and the foreground colour White.
  • A default skin to apply to all textboxes to make the width 150 pixels, the background colour LightBlue and the foreground colour Navy.
  • A named skin called Thin to apply to the rating textbox to give it a thinner width of 50 pixels.

When you've got all of this working, save all of your files and close the website.
