Before you can do this exercise, you'll need to download and unzip this file (if you have any problems doing this, click here for help).

You need a minimum screen resolution of about 700 pixels width to see our exercises. This is because they contain diagrams and tables which would not be viewable easily on a mobile phone or small laptop. Please use a larger tablet, notebook or desktop computer, or change your screen resolution settings.

Create a new website, and add the files in the above folder into it.

When you browse the frmRequest.aspx page, you should see two forms: one for choosing a date by their minimum/maximum age, and one for choosing a date by their star sign.

It is a truth universally acknowledged that carbon-based lifeforms will always want to choose a date by their age, while for robotic lifeforms star sign is all-important (with apologies to Jane Austen, and indeed to any sort of common sense).  Create a dropdown as follows:

What the user should see initially

Now add code such that when a user chooses one of the two listed options, they see the appropriate form (you should also set the AnswerMessage property to a confirmation message, as shown here):

What robotic lifeforms will see

Test your form works (if you reset the dropdown to CHOOSE, does it still work?), and close your form.
