Exercise: Criteria - Xmas songs

Before you can do this exercise, you'll need to download and unzip this file (if you have any problems doing this, click here for help).

You need a minimum screen resolution of about 700 pixels width to see our exercises. This is because they contain diagrams and tables which would not be viewable easily on a mobile phone or small laptop. Please use a larger tablet, notebook or desktop computer, or change your screen resolution settings.

Open the database in the above folder.

Create two separate queries to show that there are:

  • 26 songs which include the word Christmas in their title; but only
  • 2 songs which include the word Xmas in their title

Save the second query as XmasSongs - your answer should look like this:

Now create a query to show the 6 songs sung by artists whose names begin with either W or J:

There may only be 6 songs, but they include some classics

Close down both queries and your database.
