Before you can do this exercise, you'll need to download and unzip this file (if you have any problems doing this, click here for help).

You need a minimum screen resolution of about 700 pixels width to see our exercises. This is because they contain diagrams and tables which would not be viewable easily on a mobile phone or small laptop. Please use a larger tablet, notebook or desktop computer, or change your screen resolution settings.

Create a module called modLooping.

Create a subroutine called ListTables which lists out the names of all of the tables in your database to the immediate window, by looping over all of the Access objects in the AllTables collection of the CurrentData object!

Note that the AllTables collection also includes system tables beginning with MSys, so you need to strip these out.

The output from your macro should be something like this:

Access VBA Macros exercise - Looping (image 1)

The MSys tables are excluded

If you have time, write a similar macro called ListForms to list out all of the forms in your database to the immediate window.

Save and close your module.
