Exercise: Displaying and hiding picture on form

Before you can do this exercise, you'll need to download and unzip this file (if you have any problems doing this, click here for help).

You need a minimum screen resolution of about 700 pixels width to see our exercises. This is because they contain diagrams and tables which would not be viewable easily on a mobile phone or small laptop. Please use a larger tablet, notebook or desktop computer, or change your screen resolution settings.

Open the form called frmOsama - it should look like this:

Your aim is to make the top two buttons do what they say they will

Attach code to the Hide and Display buttons so that they work (each button should change the Visible property of the image, and also the Enabled property of each button).

You will come across a problem, which is that you can not hide a control that has the focus (ie which is the active command button).  If you see this error message, add a line to your code to apply the SetFocus method to the close button first, to make sure that this is the active control before continuing with the rest of your code.

Test that your buttons work, then save and close the form.
