Microsoft SQL Server versions
From the point of view of training courses in writing SQL, nothing has changed much in SQL Server. You can see a summary of recent SQL Server changes here.
We're currently running our public SQL courses in either SQL Server 2005 or SQL Server 2008 R2, but we're also happy to make SQL Server 2012 available if you prefer (here's what's new in SQL 2012).
The main changes in the different versions for the SQL coder are::
- debugging SQL stored procedures has changed in each version
- SQL Server 2008 and subsequent versions includes basic command autocompletion (not as useful as it sounds)
- SQL 2012 includes some new functions (most usefully, the FORMAT function)
You can see much more about our SQL Server training here.
