Differences for versions: Word 2000, Word XP, Word 2003, Word 2007

Choosing a version: Word 2000, Word XP, Word 2003, Word 2007

These pages summarise the changes introduced in different versions of Microsoft Word, as they affect Wise Owl training courses.

Word 2007 is similar to Word 2003, in theory - most new features are nice-to-have ones, such as the ability to insert cover pages. However, Word benefits more than any other Office application from the new ribbon - previously hard-to-find options are now much easier to locate.

We currently train in Word 2003 and Word 2007, although you can choose to use a different version.

You can click on any of the links below to see notes on which features were introduced in which version of Microsoft Word:

Alternatively you can return to the summary version changes page to choose a different software application.
