Excel 2007 training - what's new for Excel 2007

Excel 2007 looks very different from its predecessors, but underneath all of the cosmetic changes are a few useful new features. Wise Owl particularly like the new autocompletion when entering formulae. Specific changes include:

Change	Details
Completely new interface	Excel 2007 includes a single ribbon at the top of the screen, rather than the previous menu/toolbar combination - which works well enough once you get used to it.
Autocompletion of formulae	When entering a formulae in Excel 2007 you see much more help on the arguments, and can also see range names listed out.
Fill effects	It is the little things in life which matter - you can now apply fill effects to cell backgrounds!
Easier lists	Lists are now called tables, and include several new features. One example is calculated columns - if you press ENTER in this diagram, the formulae will be created for the entire column.
Conditional formatting	This has just got much more powerful - as a glance at this screen shot will show.
Better graphics	Everything in Excel 2007 looks prettier, there are new autoshapes and a new feature called SmartArt for different types of diagrams (such as organograms).
Prettier charts	All of the chart menus look different, and there are many more types and fill effects available - below is one example.
Page layout view	You can now edit headers and footers for a worksheet in a WYSIWYG way, using the new page layout view.
