Microsoft Visual C
HTML and XHTML exercise
Relatively easy

This Microsoft Visual C# HTML AND XHTML exercise is provided to allow potential course delegates to assess their suitability for the Wise Owl ASP.NET 2.0 USING C# course only, and may not be reproduced in whole or in part in any format without the prior written consent of Wise Owl.

Exercise: HTML simple page with style applied

A full answer to this exercise is provided as part of the training course!

1) Create a new form called frmShoppingList.aspx, which will hold Hermione Grainger's shopping list (if you've never heard of Hermione, you presumably have a suntan from the desert island you've been on recently ...).
2) Create a page as shown below:
Exercise screen-shot 2449 The shopping list is contained in a single cell table centre aligned on the screen
3) Create and apply a style sheet called Hermione.css, which makes:
  • The page background a pleasant pastel yellow colour
  • The font of the bullet points an olive colour, and in italic
Training exercise hint Bullet points use the <LI> tag, as a look at source view will show you.
4) The final page should look a bit like this:
Exercise screen-shot 2450 The LI style is only applied to items in a bulleted list
5) Save and close any files that you have open.

Thank you for showing an interest in this ASP.NET 2.0 using C# training course! As mentioned above, full answers to this and other exercises are provided on the course. On all Wise Owl scheduled courses delegates can take away these model answers (together with their own efforts!) on a free USB stick.
