Exercise: Car Showroom - Link to Database
| 1) | Download the files needed to start this exercise: exercise-511.zip (and click here if you experience any problems unzipping this file after downloading it). |
| 2) | Open the file Cars for Export.vsd |
| 3) | Select all the car shapes and from the menu choose Tools Add-Ons Visio Extras Link to Database... |
| 4) | From the Name: drop list choose Excel Files and select the file Car Data.xls |
| 5) | Modify the field links to match the diagram shown below: |
Make sure the key field is set properly otherwise it won't work!

| 6) | Try changing the information for some of the cars in the diagram and updating the database. |
| 7) | Try changing some information in the Excel file and refreshing the Visio shapes. |
| 8) | Save the file and close it down. |
